"In the future, I’m pretty sure that it will become easier and easier to learn foiling and people will even probably learn foiling before learning regular windsurf planing!"
Hi Benjamin, could you explain to us why you decided to go strapless?
Benjamin Tillier: I discovered downwind SUP-foil a year ago, and I really love the feeling. So with a powerful SUP-foil and a small sail you have a perfect mix of Windfoil with a great stability at a low speed!
Is it difficult to foil strapless?
Benjamin: You can enjoy surfing and carving every single small wave. The feeling is incredible! The foiling jibe is also becoming a piece of cake!
What gear are you using?
I’m using the Noé Foil by Taaroa with an up-front wing.
The board I’m using is an Elix FW1. It’s a windsurf / SUP / SUP-foil / windfoil as well as wing-foil if you want. A real all-rounder foil board!
The sail is the ultra-light Phantom 4.7 m Iris The perfect combo!!!
The balance offered by the Elix board and the Noé « up » wing is amazing, and sooooooo easy!
In the future, I’m pretty sure that it will become easier and easier to learn foiling and people will even probably learn foiling before learning regular windsurf planing!
Thanks for answering our question Benjamin. This looks really fun, we need to give it a try!
